Call me Mr Forklift :P

Nah... just yesterday, I spend around 3 hours or so getting the hang of the forklift, and its associated rules and such... and then today spent 2 hours doing the written and performance exam. Needless to say... I passed :P now I will get a Forklift ticket :P (Already got a pink piece of paper which is the same thing, but not as pretty...) Yesterday I heard that work was busy as hell... but I couldn't go, due to the forklift training... and then I don't know about today... probably be busy as hell too... since tomorrow its the big show in Martin Place... I don't know if I wanna go or not... since can win a free JoyBee or JoyBook... but it might seem dodgy that an employee goes there... so yeah... also my hair is getting long... might get it cut tomorrow... hmmm... but now I'm a forklift enabled operator... woo... :P Also got two fone calls while doing my exam... from the job agency... they put my resume in to some company in Alexandria (near the city) and they wanna interview me on Monday... guess if I get it... then bye bye BenQ... :(

Behind the scenes....

Today was a really really really tiring day... The last day of the guests... and they had to get to the airport by 8... since my mum has to go to classes again... so they woke up at around 6-ish... -_- anyways...I couldn't go to sleep... so just lying there in the bed feeling warm... then got up before 8 cos my alarm sounded... and got to work... before opening the gate the marketing people wanted us to get some of the boxes of frisbees that came in yesterday -_-... 77 boxes, around 1/2 gone in one day... and then later in the day, another 48 boxes -_-... they are ok in weight... but when u have to carry around 100 boxes in one day... it ain't fun... also, other promotional material... geez who knew jelly beans can be so darned heavy??? moved around 15 boxes of them (around 25 kg each...) and the plastic bags... my gawd they were heavy!! and the little booklets!!! one little box, around 15cm x 30 cm x 20 cm is SO DAMNED HEAVY!! moved around 10 of them today... so yeah... alot of exercise... but also cleaned up the incoming stuff, left some for tomorrow's guy, and I pity him cos he'll be carrying more boxes up :P but I will be going to Forklift school! :P 2 days of lifting goodness... NOT. I dunno... hopefully it'll be good... not boring... but I'm so tired... will be easy to sleep I think... but I'm still up waiting to talk to somebody... and they ain't here -_-...

Edit: I forgot to add this... basically... while at work, around 3... we turn on the lights cos it was getting dark... (by 5pm it was completely dark... -_-) and then one of the lights's cover fell off. It bounced and shattered... and everybody was out to see what happened... since it made a loud noise, and a bright light... then it sorta exploded... anyways... nobody was hurt, but I guess we might need to be aware of the lights exploding above our heads... and then, just after I got out of the shower, they wanted to take some pics... so we had some time taking pics... very funny :) hehehe... :P

My day of mayhem...

Last nite... dinner was a full on affair... wrapping our 'ruen bing' with around 9 people around a tiny table... can't say its fun... but it was fun :) but thats not important... this blog is the important one :P

I woke up pre-8am. And everybody else was up... the guests were up and out... taking a morning walk... I was having breakfast when they came back in. They were meant to go out to Chinatown and city today... but it ended up my dad wasn't too well (tired) so he didn't join them... let the guests have a big adventure by themselves... without a tour guide... :P Anyways... I drove off to work... not much was eventful... except I nearly crashed head on to a Fire Truck. Yes... the fire truck didn't make enough noise... it drove the on-coming side at an intersection... lucky I stopped there and let it through... otherwise... there wouldn't be a happy Ken, or a fire put out... Work was ok... I managed to clear out all the items that were incoming... or so I thought... except that after lunch a bunch of it came in -_- so I know that I have more to do tomorrow (its 11:19... I have to go shower and sleep soon :P). The warehouse was close to full... lots of boxes came in today...Coming back for dinner... I went to fill up $25 worth of petrol... and I heard some shouting... I didn't even hear it was clear... ended up my bro caught sight of my BenQ shirt... and hailed me :P so we got home... and mum prepared hotpot, or Shabu Shabu... but... the guests weren't home! hahaha my dad was home and mum was home... so they came home after 6:30 and then we had a long dinner... and talked afterwards... ended up quite late... and they are still talking alot, since they leave tomorrow... and then I can claim my bed back :P

Dinner... or what will be dinner

We'll be having dinner as soon as dad and the guests come back... and it'll be wrapping ingredients inside Spring Roll pastry... and eating it without deep frying it. Its called something 'bing', and there are alot of veges, and some meat... wrap your own kebab almost... except its a soft skin of spring roll pastry... after 5-6 rolls should be full... but sometimes can eat up to 10... :P And now, there are two sets of couples... one is little bro with his gf, and the other is the middle bro with his gf also... so only me alone... with no gf :P poor me :P (however I do have an alternative... but thats not for anybody to know :P)

Well... mum came back with a bandage... and paid $10 for a tetnus (sp?) shot... and also managed to pick up a nice 8 drawer cabinate... nice quality, people just chuck away things like that when its time for the council cleanup or something... Anyways, since its a 'holiday', we ran out of bread... and I have to get lunch for tomorrow... so I drove to the shopping center... and it was lucky, since the only store that was open was the big one... so I got milk, some pizzas, and bread there... and then my mum wanted some red bean paste... so I went and got that... $3.50... hmmm quite alot... but I guess that the price of convienence... meanwhile, my bro and his gf are knitting... -_- and watching "Starsky and Hutch"... hmmm... they finished "The Cat Returns"... which I might see later depending on how I feel... (tired... the bed I slept on really hurt my back... -_- it was too soft, so I ended up curved.... :~( so will sleep on one mattress tonite... and go work tomorrow hopefully better...)

Busy Morning...

Woke up some time ago... had breakfast yadda yadda... And then my mum was cleaning out these bags that we had for a long time... since bro wanted some knitting needles... @_@ he's not just a snag... he's partially a girl... a guy who knits... -_-. anyways... alot of interesting stuff was found... over 15 years old some of them were... and the guests have gone to the zoo... and then mum was cutting up a watermelon when she cut her thumb... and blood just started oozing out... -_- so bro had to drive her to hospital... maybe sew it back? I don't know... it looks to be a deep cut... -_- Therefore, you must be careful when cutting slippery things, such as a watermelon. :P

Hmm...

I had two old guys use my computer for a while today... knowing full well that I'm generous, but paranoid at what they might be doing... When I came back some of my windows were messed up... but I think it should be ok... anyhow... Tonite we had water dumplings, called 'water legs'... :P The problem was... the meat that was used to made it was thin meat... it was so hard!! the meat that is used to make dumplings are meant to be fatty meat... so yeah.. a lesson learned... :P also talked about other issues, such as retiring in australia, or winning the lottery, and travelling around australia with me as a guide... haha that would be good... then I can make a real blog... with pics! :P (will have to invest in a camera... :P). Anyways, in the afternoon, watched "Spirited Away", its ok, kinda weird and disgusting at times... but its pretty interesting... I have to be surprised at the translation (if it was done properly) since... who chucks dirt onto the car and make the trees grow wild in a couple of 'minutes/hours'??? :P I would have went... how come the car has rusted??? @_@ hahaha :P

Caveman Music...???

Nowdays... I've been getting music... but its not ur standard music... its anime music... Anyways... there are so many new formats out there nowdays that I need to get plugins for them... One is "MPC"...Mpeg Plus Codec... its lossless, apparently it doesn't discard 'unused' information. Thus its a perfect copy... of course, its much bigger than mp3 or wma or ogg... the other format I just found out was "APE"... MonkeyAudio... same thing, different rate of compression I guess... a 3 minute song is around 14 megs... -_- thankfully cd media is cheap nowdays :P

Ah... dinner was just me and bro... since they (parents + guests) decided to eat at a restraunt... poor us :P and there wasn't any iron chef tonite either... :P will be unsure when they will go to sleep.. and its getting colder too... might have to start wearing long pants! :P

New printer in the house :P A Samsung ML-1710P 16 ppm mono laser... $215... looks compact... and well... its cheap... can't expect too much :P but yeah... now we can print around 1000 pages before the toner will die... woohoo :P

Think outside the box...

Yesterday was a busy day... I woke up early to go to the job center to look for some jobs... found some to apply for, then I went to hand in some forms in Bankstown... then I got home... they didn't call me up for work, so I checked my email... Woohoo! my case is ready for pickup! So... I had a quick lunch... and watched TV... they had "Mysterious Ways" on!!! it was the episode where there's this window washer who fell 200 meters from a building and survived... I think it was an ok episode... but all of them were ok in my book. Anyways, I went to pick up the case... and on the way... I got fone call on my mobile... which I can't answer while driving, in case I get into an accident, or get pulled over and fined by the police... but I told them to call me back in 5-10 mins... and I got to my destination, and then picked up my case, and was driving off again when they called... that was 10 mins? I don't know... seems longer than 10... I was nearly at the shopping center... but anyways... I had to find a place to pull off and talk... so I did that... and after talking I went to shopping... just a bag of Bean Sprouts, and milk... and to deliver off some letters. Anyways, I come home... and then was playing around with my new case... and then somebody starts saying things... I think they were jealous of my case :P but anyways... after they left... I just finished assembling my case... and tested it out... it was beeping at me... I said fine... and pulled out my memory stick from my pc and plugged it in... and it works! :D I had it plugged into the tv... and my HDD had an installed copy of win98... and that works... and its blurry on the tv... but I guess can live with that... since its not to be used for intensive purposes... just a router and maybe for mum to watch video on tv... anyways I had tried to punch a hole in the case to fit some cable... but I guess I stuffed it up... so I just put some sticker over the panel... its my mod :P I like the case... its pretty good... and even though the specs say that this case can only fit the board + Slim CD/DVD drive + 2.5" drive, I am just gonna fit in one 3.5" HDD... Thats thinking outside the box for yah :P And I also got my quote for RAM at $166 (inc delivery...) it was gonna be at CWorld for $140 without delivery, but they ran out, and won't be ordering in anymore... so I went with GameDude instead... $155 + 11 postage... at another online store, MegaPC, it starts at $170, which is starting to get expensive... and inc delivery that would be closer to $180 so I think I saved some $$ by buying different components from all over the place... now the guests have gone outside... the house seems pretty empty (just me and bro... hmm)...

On other news, my dad's friends have now been in our house for a while... I dunno why, but I think one of them has a huge head :P The light problem we had in the bathroom was fixed with $10 worth of merchandise. 2 x 60cm fluro lights, and 2 x starters... Now its brighter than before... something to do with 'Daylight' written on the lights... Guess we were used to 'bedroom light' maybe :P Who cares... its got 15,000 hours of life... thats... quite a long time? if there was around 1 hour a day... thats many, many years... :P but anyways, I got sore arms from trying to put the bloody cover back on... poorly designed piece of crap... And I have to go to sleep earlier... since the friend will be in my room... and its friday... means I gotta go to the job search to find jobs... and to hand in my job form... ah... its stupid :P but at least I got something next week... thursday I get to drive a forklift! :P or at least, know how to operate one safely and in accordance with OH&S crap... good luck to me :P

Forgive me if I won't be blogging for a few days... for some friends of my dad will be staying in my room... so I guess I might not be able to use the computer at night (when my creative juices flow :P) and thus... I shall try to use it during the day... who know... The people at GameDude hasn't replied me about my quote for shipping... so I guess I won't go with them... I will go with Computer World instead... Today work was alright... not much activity... only 8 items going out... thats the smallest amount yet... So I think my friend will have and easy time tomorrow I hope... meanwhile back home my parents were waiting for the friends to finish the tour... so they can go visit them... I think they didn't know the the shower's fluro lights have started to die... they are flickering... and thats annoying when u're trying to shower... :P but anyways, tonite's CSI:Miami was good... next week's should be good too, by the looks of the commercial..

My Toy...

Yeah... I now am a proud owner of a Mini-Itx M10000, the all-in-one motherboard + CPU solution from Via. I won't be doing any spectacular mods with it... Heck, I don't even have Ram or a PSU for it yet... But I'm gonna get cheap Ram... Kingston ram at $140 for 512 megs is ok... since I am looking for PC2100 DDR266 Ram, the price is a little more expensive than some faster speed, since its a bit older... better to get some before they become obsolete (some shops don't even sell them anymore... thats why its hard to find it..) And I'll probably be forking out $155 for my case still... so... if its all good... I'll be poor at the end of this week, but with a working computer (without an OS I guess..) On other news... work was ok...seems that they now know that I might be possibly getting another job... my supervisor seems a little desperate to say that he wants me to stay... since I do work pretty well there... but if they aren't planning to offer me full time... I think I will have to leave... and get a full time job... since if I get a forklift license... my job prospects just got a little bit better... but it'll be hard to get out of BenQ... since I did get introduced by a friend to work there... but I guess its hard regardless what path I choose... staying at BenQ for 2 days a week isn't good enough to feed my growing hobby :P I wanna get a 2.5" HDD and a Slimline DVD... but have to see later on...

Haha the lyrics to this song... very interesting :P Anyways, today I got mail... 4 items of mail... while nobody else in our house got mail! :D .. I got one from Centerlink, meaning I got an interview again with the job center on the 29th April, and then I got my bank's online transfer code! And then two things which were a nice surprise... a CD game from Atari and a sticker set from Shell. Its no surprise that I immediately transfered $$ to the online computer store... and within minutes they sent my invoice... so it should be here in 1-2 days... happy ^_^. Otherwise, I have done shopping this morning... Basically woke up, and then immediately after breakfast mum told me to go buy some shelf kit (now we've got more shelves than rooms... is that scary or what??) which was ~ $19, and some hydrochloric acid... dangerous stuff... and then some prescription meds for dad... and then milk, and some toothbrushes??? well basically some of my dad's friends from taiwan are touring aus... then when the main group goes back, they will stay here... meaning me and one of my bros will be kicked out of our rooms for around 5 days :~~~(. Oh well thats life... So my parents might be scared and want to buy some toothbrushes incase they don't have any... WTF?? you must be kidding... there are toothbrush sets in the plane, and sometimes in the hotels... so what is she worried about... anyways doesn't matter... I got some RCA cables... will be waiting for my mini PC!! :P Now I just gotta order some RAM, and a Case + PSU... the case will be local I guess... but the ram is cheap at $165, I will get it from melb + $9.90 delivery... still cheaper than $185 locally... hmmm we'll see...

Watermelons... more and more :P

Hehe we've been having watermelons almost everday now... even though its getting into winter... but basically parents went to Flemington, and got 4 watermelons at $1 each... bargin! :P Also got a sack of potatos for $1 too... the guy was too lazy to get $1 change for mum, so told her to take a bag of potatoes. So thats how a sack of 10 kg potatoes was $1 cheap. Meanwhile I've been surfing around alot of online shops trying to find DDR PC2100 Ram... Best price is around $180 for 512 megs... but I think I can pay for around $200 and pick it up without paying $10-15 for shipping... since I wanna get other accessories for my mini computer as well... maybe get a 30 meter cable... :)

Another day... another blog :P This morning I had an appointment with the Salvation Army Employment Plus. To tell you the truth, I don't like going there... Its depressing. But its actually compulsory, or else I wouldn't get the extra dosh that the govt gives... anyways, I went to it on time... lucky I set my watch alarm... it seems that my normal alarm clock can keep time, but doesn't have enough juice to drive the ringer... so when it was time to ring... the hand just stops there. It stopped for around 5 mins since there was that much difference between my watch and my clock. But anyways, I got there on time... and went to look for some jobs on the computers and in the papers... And guess what?? NO BLOODY INTERESTING JOBS. Anyways, recently one of them advisors said that there is a position open for a storeperson, just like what I'm doing now, except that its full time.. so yeah... I would be interested, since its ok kind of job... but the only catch is, they need somebody with a forklift license... which I don't have. But, I'm glad that they (salvos) are offering me the chance to get it... they might even pay for it... cool :) And apparently I was the most popular client there today... This other guy, Jeff (or Geoff, I don't know) had some jobs which might suit me... Turns out that extra item I placed in my resume about working as a warehouse/storeperson really attracts those jobs... WHY COULDN'T THEY FIND THE MEDICAL ENGINEERING JOBS!! :P But I think getting a foot in the door of some warehouse... would be ok... The jobs that were on offer... "Warehouse Assistant" same type as I'm doing now... same amount of pay... same amount of time! its almost the same job... but in Alexandria... "Maintenance Technician"... you know bus shelters have advertising? Well, basically I could be the guy who goes around replacing the posters! Cool hey :P $28k isn't bad for driving around town replacing posters... "Storeperson (Junior or Senior)" hmm I think I don't even qualify for the Junior bit, since I've only been here 2 months... But its starting at $30k... which is pretty good... Not sure what kind of store... but yeah... I don't know... if its full time and not heavy manual labour (I don't wanna have a bad back...) I would take it... if it involves computers and bits of computers... that would be so much easier... :D Anyways, bro bought a cordless fone from his collected points from his CC... and then I think the rice cooker has died... after serving us meals since before 1986... you will be missed :P
On a totally unrelated topic... I find that girls are really unstable creatures. I think I should get back to being a Monk... There is no pleasing a girl... Especially online ones... I should just get a girl here in sydney...

Tired

I guess I can never figure out why working makes me tired. Usually I get home and I just sit there watching the Simpsons, then I would have enough energy to go eat. :P anyways... Today was the usual... just some monitors coming in (why are there always monitors), some LCDs (yes, there are alot of them... people treat them as if they aren't fragile objects... thats why its stupid... And plenty of broken CDRW writers... Also... some idiots return stuff that was correct... they just didn't bother opening the box... oh well... Also today recieved a package which wasn't even made by our company! how stupid!! hahahaha there sure are weird people out there... but yeah... I don't have to go in tomorrow... relaxing day at home :D ahhh... (see this is my ranting and raving action right here :P)

One extra in the living room, one extra in my bro's room, and one shelf in the back shed... pretty soon it'll all be shelves! :P Also spent some time changing the old gas stove in the back veranda to a new one that my dad bought ages ago. And it still works! It left some silver paint things on my hands... I dunno why... Too new or something... but yeah, they were cooking fish balls on it with good results... guess we'll be having more fish tonite...

I now know the reason why I had the runs all of yesterday. BECAUSE! Nobody told me that you shouldn't mix Milk and Persimmons together. That means no eating of either items together within maybe half an hour or more... I did that... and thats why I had stomach upsets all day... thankfully its gone !!! I had at least knew about Chicken and Plum/Prunes not going good together... but milk and persimmon... -_-;;... live and learn... :/

Happy Birthday Dad

My dad has another birthday... so its the traditional Pork, Chives? and Rice noodles. Except one bro is in Bris, and another bro can't stay at home (got an outing/dinner to go to...). Anyways, my bro and mum bought some shelving kits so that we can have more books in the living room... I assembled one by myself... Meanwhile I placed an order for a Mini-ITX on Warren Computers at $318. Eyo Computers stocks the same model (I hope) of a EPIA-M10000 at $330. Even with a $9 Shipping its cheaper by $3. :P But I think I have to get a case + PSU + memory (DDR2100 512M for me, I'll swap my 128M to the mobo :P) from Eyo because Warcom simply doesn't have the tiny cases I desire... :D~~~ Tomorrow will be Easter Sunday... and I had a chocolate today... and I don't know if thats what triggered my trips to the toilet... but I've had gone to the toilet 3 times already... -_-;;

Today is Easter Friday... felt like the weekend since it was pretty boring... and my bro has gone up to Brisbane for a week to hang out with friends and possibly do some archery. I think he's doing the friends thing more than the archery... anyways, no things to watch on tv... so its more chatting online...

This is my second blog... Because I didn't like the way the other one was going. Too much complaint there. This one will have less readers, since I won't be telling anybody. However if you stumble onto this, I feel you won't understand what I do here. Its my space to rave and rant, and say anything I want to, without people reading and complaining. They can't complain to me if they don't read, so... its one of the public rules I have here. Anyways I'm already starting to rave and rant... Look forward to it please! :P
