Sun Cakes...

My bro (the 2nd one) came home this morning. :P He had been out with his gf since Fri, and didn't come home on Fri and Sat... Anyways, he bought home some 太陽餅 (Sun Cakes) because his gf's dad came (back) to Aus from Taichung last week... haha thats some thing to bring home, its the 'original' product in Taichung, since its 'Fresh' made... unlike if u buy it here, which would definately be in proper packaging and hygenically sealed etc etc... but it doesn't really matter since my mum has made them before also, and it tastes the same as usual. Why did I share this with u? I don't know. I was bored. Anyways... nothing good on tv tonite, and I gotta get to work by 7:30am... so yeah I will go sleep at 10:30 maybe, or 11 at the latest... -_-;; damn supervisor.

bit-tech :: My word is Law

bit-tech :: My word is Law... hehe funny :P

my past few days...

Ah... long time no blog :P I've been dead tired for these past few days... let me recap what has happened in my boring life.

Today, Saturday. I woke up at 6am -_-. Yes, for work at 8am. On a Saturday. Gawd... never again. (well, if I was in need of $$, then sure) Basically did more unloading of boxes from pallets, and I actually got to use the forklift today... just unloaded some boxes from the top pallets. Anyways, work finished at 12, and I got back on the bus (since there were no trains to Central station) and caught the train back home. Except that I fell asleep. And woke up several stations past my station -_-. So I got off at the next station, and waited about 20 mins for the train to get back home. Thus I got home around 2, when I could have got home around 1:30... also I have to work at 7:30am on Monday! -_-... seems they are too damn busy there...

Friday. Work was the same... Unloaded boxes. Tired. And couldn't stay up late because was asked to work on Sat at 8am... yah... somebody said was my brain not working. I guess so... who agrees to work on sat? only the poor. :P

Thursday.

The Day has come. Yes. The Day has finally arrived. The movie event I got a free ticket to was here. "The Day After Tomorrow". I worked as per usual. Unloading boxes into the shelves. One of the workmates managed to crash the forklift into the garage roller doors. Bent it out of shape. Lucky that nobody was injured. Just that they had to fix the door, otherwise somebody wouldn't be going home that night. Lucky they got it fixed at 5:30. I tried to stay as long as possible, but I left about 5 past 5pm... and slowly walked to the train station... and tried to kill 3 hours by walking around the shops... which were closing by 6pm... so yeah... I got to the cinemas around 8... and waited with around 20 people for around 40 mins before another 520 people turned up... -_- quite impressive... we went in, and on each seat there was popcorn and free drink... so, 540 * around $7 for the small popcorn + small drink + $15 for the price of a movie ticket... around $11,800... Quite scary. The Maya 6 demonstration was pretty good. And the movie was also pretty good. I thought it was ok, not terribly mind blowing, but it was good because it was free :D After the movie I got home at around 1:30... damn demo took 1 hour... 8:45 start made the movie start around 10pm... finished around 12:30... train time took around 1 hour... but its worth it, but also not worth it since I had to get up early anyways... ended up getting up at 6:30 because they wanted me to go in at around 8... so I had a measly 5 hour sleep... poor me...

First known 64-bit virus threat found

First known 64-bit virus threat found Hmm... this is rather interesting, since not many people are using 64 bit windows as yet...

hahahaha

The event is happening tomorrow... and its been booked out... so... I am lucky :D woohoo :P on other news, my life is still the same, work is still the same (just moving boxes all day... bloody boring work...) and well... watching some Midori No Hibi... its ok, Seiji became small for a change (different from the manga...)

Free movie tix...

Wow... I got an invite to go see a movie that I saw the trailer for and thought was interesting. "The Day After Tomorrow". Basically Alias|Wavefront's Maya is now up to version 6, and they are promoting it, with the help of HP, and the boujou ballet... so I registered to attend the demo, and to see a movie afterwards... so yeah, I'll be staying around the city on Thursday... yeah baby :P

New Workplace

Started work at the new warehouse... gosh its so big... 3 times bigger than the previous warehouse (well it seems to be roomier (more roomy) than the other one, thats for sure...). The new warehouse was 10 min powerwalk (2 sets of traffic lights delay the powerwalk to 10 mins... otherwise without the traffic lights I can get there in about 7 mins... the old place was 5 mins walk, maximum (leisurely stroll, not powerwalk... its almost the same distance from our house to the train station... 10 mins without lights, but with some roundabout...) anyways... Our task for the day(s) ahead is to unpack the boxes onto the shelves, except THAT THERE ARE NO SHELVES TO USE!! :P Still unassembled... so yeah, we have to find the pallets with certain clothes in order to put them onto shelves that do exist... which is a pain in the ass. Anyways, tired, and sleepy. Nothing new to report either... got some anime, hasn't watched... got some manga, haven't watched either... seems like I just work, come home eat, irc/msn, and then sleep (with the occasional shower...) Hmm... and some weird explosion noises were heard in the neighbourhood tonite too... weird....

Peanuts, anybody?

Heh... when I first planted the 3 single peanuts back in 27th Nov 2003, they took a while to sprout (15/12/03) then, about nearly 6 months, I was fed up and just wanted to see if anything happened... and so dug it out... and there were 2 plants that sprouted, the third didn't make it, and the two plants gave birth to 11 peanuts... which will be eaten by me :P kekekeke ah its fun :P

Long time no blog

bah... I haven't blogged in such a long time! 17th till the 21st... 4 days :O let me try to remember what happened in the past few days...

21st May: Today was the day it all got finished... all of the warehouse got taken apart... 13 rows of shelves, 5 bays high, 12 bays wide... I'm sick of boxes, and pallets, and life in general. I checked my bank account, I think I got paid for 4 days (paid on thurs)... hmmm... but yeah, my arms are sore now, and will be sore for a few days... poor me... also will go to new premises on monday... will be interesting to see whats the big deal... but basically had to change all my clothes today, they were completely covered with dust -_-... and I woke up at 6am to get there by 8am... the sun wasn't even breaking over the horizon when I got to the train station... and I came home tired, and well... I took a nap for 3 hours... and was online again after 11pm... heh heh :P

20th May: Its a small world afterall... A REALLY REALLY SMALL WORLD. And it happened today in the factory... this guy who's worked there for a few months and I got talking while we're moving boxes for the big move... about where we lived (since we're all casuals, we don't always come everyday) John said he lived in roselands, revesby and riverwood. I said I used to live in riverwood before moving to sefton... and then he goes he used to live on charles st. I said I used to live on charles st too... and he goes which number? and I said 39. He had this look on his face... it was pretty funny... he goes 'you've just made my day'. Apparently he rented the same house about 10 years before we did... ok, think about this... what was the possibilty that two guys who didn't know each other lived at the same place, while working about 20 km away from where they live??? Thats a huge coincidence. Then while at lunch, we were talking with another collegue, she comes from new zealand... and there was also a new collegue who joined us since monday... they were talking, and found out that he was also a kiwi... and they came from the same town... and that he went to school with her nephew! omg! thats two scary coincidences!! how the hell does that happen in a warehouse like this? its quite incredible... also talked with a friend, she was in Taiwan! damn her :P but I guess she needs some time off, she got her laptop stolen and rented unit broken into... poor gal... she is visiting rellos in taiwan for 2 weeks... lucky lucky...

19th May: Today we started packing up boxes... in hindsight its quite stupid of them, since they wanted to get more stuff picked before they packed it all and moved... thus we finished all the picking, and started moving boxes onto pallets and shrink wrapping them... it seems a daunting task, all these boxes (each pallet holds around 50 boxes... each truck around 20 pallets... and in 3 days we moved around 5-6 trucks... quite scary... but we had around 8 people doing the packing of the boxes... 1 guy on the forklift, one lady (bitch) just didn't help at all... complained about the dust -_-) but yeah... quite an effort... since for 3 days (I started on friday) I didn't lift any boxes... it was quite tiring...

18th May: normal, tiring day of picking clothes... nothing special :P

Getting used... to it :P

Work work work... I woke up late today -_- 7:30. I don't know if my alarm clock rang and I clicked it off, because when I woke up, turned over and looked at the alarm, it was 7:30. I was supposed to go sleep at 11:30 (or before) but I stayed online till 12-ish... damn that person. :P Lucky I made the 7:40 train (skipping breakfast on the way) and thus got to work before 9. Work was the usual. Nothing too exciting. Didn't see much hotties at the train station either... hmm why did I start typing that out... I dunno. But I had a weird dream last nite... I don't remember all of it... but at the end... there was this room... like a lecture theatre. And there was a group of 5-6 people on stage... and there was this huge pile of cans... and they were singing and dancing... and the audience also sang and danced... I dunno why... weird dream...

Weird Korean Girls...

Don't ask me, they are weird!

Bowman

Bowman... a funny flash game :P (animated blood)

BAHHHHHH

I dunno why, my computer powered itself down today! WHAT THE HELL!?!?! Basically I was encoding video to VCD... and the darned computer turns itself off!! I then figured that it was warm, and then when I managed to boot it back up... I checked the bios and found the CPU's temperature was over 80 degrees C!!! (well it had cooled itself down to 70 when I restarted the machine...). The encoding process basically takes 98% of the CPU's power, and that made it go over 80... quite scary... now its hovering around 72 degrees, since I took the side panel off... and I thought this was cold... guess there wasn't much airflow inside a case afterall.... after that, I went and got a weekly train ticket... it costs $43.50... better than $55 if I pay every time I went... and also 2 kg of carrots for $1... not bad... and $2 for tofu 'gan', semi-compressed tofu... :P

The Kenman's New Clothing?

Nah I'm not naked... But I got some new 'NOW' steel capped boots from K-Mart for $39.98... when the ticket says $49.98... which is good, means I saved $10... and its just a steel capped boot.... now I don't have to worry about heavy boxes of clothes crashing onto my foot... but I guess I have to still worry about motorised trolleys (called 'Waves') hitting me, or me hitting somebody with one... sure to cause damage if got hit by one of them thats for sure..... at least hurt the shin, since thats where one part of the trolley is... Also went shopping for rice, since we ran out of rice... and mum went and got more jumper clothings for the family... its getting colder and colder now... brrrr... I got given one yesterday because it was too big for my dad... so today mum picked a smaller size (hopefully still fits my dad and bros..)......

I'm so tired...

Did a full day of picking today... damned tired. Standing up for close to 7.5 hours moving and carrying stuff isn't a good way to spend your day, luckily its just clothes, and not so much clothes, but still clothes nevertheless. I think I've picked over 500 items today... but since the pay is a little better, its not so bad... if I worked 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year (which isn't possible, they do have off periods) then its close to $32k... not bad for carrying stuff around all day... also I think I have to get some steel capped shoes... for safety reasons... ah... can see $$ going down the drain...

Starting... again...

I am starting another job... hopefully this one will be ok... from the looks of it, I'll be busy, busy, busy... oh well that is life. I heard from my friend that they got gifts today... WHY!?!?! I worked hard there yet... I didn't get any... hahaha its ok... some gift merchandise... promotional stuff... I saw the products... bag, keyring, notepads... that kind of stuff... doesn't matter, I'll live... :P Going to sleep early since gotta wake up early...

My Last (?) Day...

It was a very busy day. The Morning started out ok... quiet... my supervisor even told me to slow it down because there wasn't much to do... then the deliveries came in... 5 big boxes... -_- filled up 2 palettes... then... my supervisor went to the other warehouse to stocktake... leaving me to fend for myself against a devillish woman, who produces sales orders and whatnot which would drive two people mad... and so, I did the best I can, leaving some stuff for my friend tomorrow to do, since it was impossible to do it all... but I guess I shall be doing more mundane things at my next place of work, this friday... I have to see if I like it enough to stay... otherwise... *sigh* I have to endure it for a while...

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

Wow... :P (Not "again")

Today was a very very easy going day. Yesterday one of the people that gives sales orders for us to deliver was sick. But she came today... and thus there was some work to be done. But anyways... I got a fone call later in the arvo, saying that I got the job in Alexandria... yay :P I think I'll take public transport, even though it might be expensive.. but beats the traffic I guess... I start Friday... so I say bye to this company... but if they do have a 'full time' opening I'll be glad to come back... its closer and easier work I guess... anyways, this evening I watched CSI, its about a guy who married two people... and lived :P While this woman who married a singer dies... such is life :P Also the apprentice was good... I don't like Sam... I think he is just a big mouth and he can't shut up... but I agree, I would have saw the client to see what their idea was, instead of bs'ing my way through.... Live and learn, Jason...

THEY WERE DONE THE NEXT MORNING! :P cool. Anyways. work tomorrow... I also got a profile up and running... hmmmmm dunno where that is...

The saga is finally over...

After a painful night... I am now back to normal. I installed an OS on the mini computer... that went 100% according to plan. And made it share the ADSL connection. My two brothers can immediately get online via the connection. But what about my little computer? NOOOOO. IT DOESN'T F**KING WANT TO. I spent the entire night trying out different combinations of drivers and IP addresses... and none of them worked. I even gave up my shower just to fix the problem. Alas, it didn't work. So I took it out of its noisy box, and put it into an older, but quieter box. And now its quieter. by a margin. Still sounds like a mini vacuum cleaner, but it doesn't clatter around... I can probably sleep with it on at night... but now with the mini itx as the server, I don't have to! :P Anyways, I woke up early this morning to fix this problem. Still won't be fixed... so I said... I'll install a damned proxy server. And it works... -_- so now I'm back online... yay :P having a mini computer connected to the tv is cool... can watch anime and other stuff on the tv :P woo hoo :P

Call my Mr Forklift... again.

Today I woke up and then went to the job agency... to renew some contract... and then they gave me a certificate for the Forklift license I done... and they laminated it too! The only thing bad was... they printed my name wrong. -_- my last letter is a 'U', not a 'V'. Ah well... it just looks nice. I probably won't frame it... 'Look I got a forklift certificate! :P'. Anyways, I started to work on my mini pc... takes 30 mins to install an OS... and probably tomorrow I'll install some upgrade packs on it... then the modem... and then configure it... ahhh then I'll move my fast pc into this case... since its smaller and less noisy I hope...

what a night! @_@ :P

I've been through a lot while working... so tonight it was pretty interesting. First of all... I had a quick dinner at 3:30... why? cos I don't know when I'll be having dinner... Anyways... I headed over to work at around 4:45, because I don't wanna be late. We did the manifest early... and then we closed up early. Then we were on the road to the city. I didn't know we had to go somewhere else first... but it doesn't matter, since I wasn't driving. We left at around 5:10... and on the way, we grabbed Maccas (McDonalds) drive-thru... company paid of course. Anyways, we got to the city in around an hour's time... traffic was terrible, so many cars going into the city for some reason... but we got there... and spent some time trying to find the damned place... basically it was called some Overseas Passenger Terminal... and it was just under the sydney harbour bridge... (I think it took a long time to find because there was no direction... but anyways...) we got there, and was rudely ushered away from the main reception... BECAUSE IT WAS MAFW!!! Mercedes Australian Fashion Week is one of the events that is sponsered by my company... so yeah... alot of well dressed men and women (oh... alot of hotties there... some wearing alot less than usual... :P) Anyways, we had to move the packing stuff from the car... and packed two displays... bloody heavy!! at least 3 people will manage it with difficulty... 4 is ok... 5 or more is good. So that was two. We finished packing those, and then left... the 'Cargo room' of MAFW was still going strong at 8... alot of people (50+ was still lining up to get in...) milling around... a good vibration. Anyways, we headed over to Martin Place, where 5 other display cases were awaiting us... and we packed it up with more people helping us... they arrived from head office because they are obligated... we get extra pay because we aren't :P and then we were out of there around 9. There were alot of people still around there at 9... but basically my friend who drove us... he accidentally parked in a wrong place, and got fined $68 for 30 mins -_- more than $2 a minute! geez... after going back to work place around 10, we stopped on the way to get more Maccas... since we were hungry, and the boss'll pay for it... now I'm back home, and tired... guess I'll sleep easy tonight :P
Work was ok, yesterday I just didn't feel like blogging. Today, I had a easy morning in. Turns out I had bitched about my RAM for no reason, they simply had a public holiday on Monday in Queensland. Thus, the RAM arrived today. However, I don't have time to take apart my computer to reassemble it into a smaller, quieter case. I will do it maybe after tomorrow. Since tonight I am to work at night... I shall leave around 4-4:10 ish... since the job is from whenever we get to the city... and finish at 8:30... something like that... lucky I am not working today... will be tired like a bitch :P. hehe they packaged my ram in a Corsair box... when its not Corsair at all... freaks :P

Tuesday, May 04, 2004

Hmm... work was ok... nothing exciting... the usual. The car feels funny... sorta like its not wanting to slow down, cos if it slows down, it shakes... but at 60 its smooth... weird... -_-. anyways... tonite watched two shows... CSI, which was ok... and the new show, called 'The Apprentice'... basically over 3000 people applied... and Donald Trump chose 16 over 13 weeks to pick one (firing the other 15) to be the next president of one of his companies for 1 year... sounds sweet... but I hate 'Sam'... I think he really is a brown nose... sucked up to Trump bad... and thats why Trump thinks he's got guts... anyways... I might see it for a few more episodes to see what happens... but tonight, they sold lemonade... given $250, the females made $1000... while the guys only made $500... the females basically sold lemonade for $5. $1 for the lemonade, $4 for the kiss on the cheek... -_- no wonder guys can't sell...

Long Distance Interview...

I took about nearly an hour to get to the interview place... I drove to the wrong place several times... thats cos I never went that way... kinda sad, but thats how we learn... lucky no major traffic problems... but I think this car doesn't like to be pushed past 80 km/h... which is a pity... I feel the car trying to produce the power which just isn't there... by the end of the day, the water must have been superheated, since the level went to around 30%... quite scary when I filled the water up before I left... anyways, the warehouse is a t shirt distribution warehouse in Alexandria... pay is a bit better than what I get now... and of course, its casual (damned bastards are smart now... employ only casuals for 37 hour weeks... thus they don't have to pay super etc etc... :P) but anyways... if I don't get it, thats good... I don't fancy driving peak hour traffic... along a busy motorway -_- I want something which is similiar to BQ, but full time... seems I can get better prospect with my forklift ticket now... :P

Brrr its cold...

Its getting colder here in Sydney... I think I have to start wearing long pants. And I just saw Shaolin Soccer in its entirety. I saw the end of it before when I was in taiwan, on one of the cable channels... but now I get to see it in its original, undubbed language. :P Its ok... typical HK film... and the special effects are just basically the same as any HK effects... of course, the film is around 3 yrs old... thats why it has the technology... Also, today we have some friends come by... maybe they'll stay for dinner, not sure... they are basically the child/husband of a friend... and its been about 5-6 years since we've met them last... not that I have an impression of them... 5-6 years ago I think I was still in uni... :P

Hair cut...

Yeah... I must be crazy... getting a shorter haircut in this short weather... :P
